Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
Overview
A highly porous form of carbon derived from coconut shells, GAC removes contaminants through a process called adsorption. Excellent for reducing chlorine, undesirable taste, odors and specific chemical impurities — supplied in two mesh grades to match your application.
Applications
- 8×16 mesh — municipal water filtration and whole-house systems for chlorine and VOC removal
- 8×16 mesh — wastewater and industrial purification (gravity filters, pressure vessels)
- 12×40 mesh — dechlorination to protect RO membranes
- 12×40 mesh — removal of VOCs, pesticides and solvents
- 12×40 mesh — taste and odor improvement (trapping geosmin compounds)
- 12×40 mesh — residential point-of-use / point-of-entry systems
- 12×40 mesh — pre-treatment for commercial RO systems
