Anthracite
Overview
Anthracite is a premium filtration medium derived from deep-mined anthracite coal, selected for its high carbon content, low volatile matter, and exceptional structural hardness. Specialized crushing and hydraulic classification create angular particles of uniform size — ideal for trapping suspended solids in dual-media and multimedia filter beds.
Applications
- Dual-media filtration — remains atop the filter bed to capture larger particles
- Multimedia filters — pairs with sand and other media for multi-layered filtration
- Industrial and drinking water clarification
